Now, software development course at DAVV

The Deen Dayal Upadhyay Kaushal Kendra at Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya is preparing to introduce a new undergraduate course in software development. This programme aims to align with the educational reforms outlined in the National Education Policy of 2020, allowing students from any stream to choose this course.

The proposed course aims to meet the growing demand for skilled professionals in software development. With technology advancing rapidly and industries relying more on software solutions, it is crucial to equip students with the necessary skills to succeed in this field. Upon completion of three years, students enrolled in this course will receive a B Voc degree in Software Development.

According to DDUKK head Dr Maya Ingle, the NEP reforms give students the freedom to pursue courses based on their interests, regardless of their educational background. Many commerce or science students have an interest in software development, so this course will help them pursue a career in this growing industry.

Interestingly, the course is structured so that if a student completes one year, they will receive a diploma, an advanced diploma in the second year, and a degree after finishing the third year.

The introduction of the undergraduate course in software development aims to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of software design, programming languages, and development methodologies. It will enable them to create innovative software solutions and contribute to the thriving IT sector.

The course curriculum is being developed in consultation with industry experts to ensure its relevance and alignment with current industry practices. Practical training, industry internships, and hands-on projects will be integral components of the program, allowing students to gain real-world experience and improve their employability.
